Many people start experiencing presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) after age 40. Seeing far is clear, but reading up close becomes a struggle. Hearing that progressive lenses can handle distance, intermediate, and near vision all in one pair—eliminating the hassle of switching glasses—is incredibly tempting.

Fitting progressives is far more complex than just measuring nearsightedness or astigmatism.   3. Specific Design: The lens type matches your specific lifestyle and daily scenarios.

IV. A simple standard for judgment:

  • Getting more comfortable by the day $\rightarrow$ Normal adaptation.
  • Dizzy, distorted vision, or feeling like you're "stepping into holes" after a week $\rightarrow$ High probability of a fitting error.
  • Still uncomfortable after a month $\rightarrow$ 100% a fitting issue. You must have your measurements retaken and the lenses remade.

Don't try to "tough it out." You can't force your way into comfort; you will only end up with more eye strain.
